Psychoeducational

Evaluations

Not every child fits in the academic box, but all children deserve to love learning.

Does your child:

  • Hate doing homework?

  • Come home exhausted after school?

  • Struggle with reading, writing, or math?

  • Have a hard time paying attention?

  • Give up quickly or are scared to answer?

A psychoeducational evaluation can help uncover what’s really going on and get your child back on track.

A psychoeducational evaluation provides you with a better understanding of your child’s strengths and weaknesses as well as any potential challenges, such as learning disabilities, anxiety, or ADHD, that may be impacting your child’s ability to succeed academically. Utilizing this information, teachers and schools can provide the appropriate support, accommodations, and environments that allow your child to reach their true potential. You know what your child is capable of, let’s help them show the world!

  • Insurance coverage for psychoeducational evaluations varies widely and is dependent upon your specific policy. We would be happy to provide you with the service codes for you to check what your insurance will and will not cover. Send a request to connect@psychperformance.com

  • No. We are not on any insurance panels. We do provide you with a super bill after the evaluation that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

  • A total of 6 hours. We break it up into two 3 hour sessions completed on separate days.

  • An informal feedback session is provided the same week of testing. Full results will be discussed and resources will be provided at that time. The written report is completed within 2 weeks of the evaluation.

  • It’s a long test session with a lot of mental work. Bring some snacks and water (we’ll take a break). Any additional paperwork that wasn’t completed prior to test day.

  • Let your child know that everybody learns in different ways. They will be doing many games and activities that help us better understand how their brain learns so we can make sure we are teaching them in the best way and making school more enjoyable.

  • Typical evaluations asses 5 areas:

    1. Intellectual Potential

    2. Academic Functioning

    3. Auditory and Visual Processing Skills

    4. Executive Functioning and Attention/Concentration Skills

    5. Social-Emotional Functioning

  • Evaluations are comprehensive. We assess for ADHD, Language Disorder, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. We also explore anxiety and depression. Learn more about these in our blogs.
